PSEUDO POLICEMEN.

TWO MEN ARRESTED. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, July 30. George Devlin and George Beetridge were charged to-day, before Mr Haseldan, S.M., with being rogues and vagabonds, having 1 been found at night dressed as policemen with felonious intent. i Devlin was arrested last night, and Bettridge this morning. A remand was asked for to make enquiries, but in reply''to the Magistrate, who wanted details to enable him 10 fix bail, the police stated that the men were accused of obtaining 5s from one man and accr.sting others. Devlin was arrested when attempting with his companion to rush one of two plain clothes constables who came after them. Devlin had on an imitation police shako. Accused were remanded till Wednesday.
