HAWKE'S BAY HUNT CLUB. By Telegraph—Press Association. NaPIER. July 28. The annual Steeplechasa Meeting of the Hawke's Bay Hunt Club was held at Hastings Racecom*se to-day. The weather was beautifully fine. The attendance was large and the sport good. Eighteen bookmakers were on the ground. Results:— Hunters' Bracelet Hurdles, 2 miles.—Chief, 11.0, carried 11.9. 1; Taipara, 11.0, 2; Kaiwaka Maid, 11.0, 3. Also started—Watershed, Mother Goose. Won by six lengths. No time was taken.
First Open Flat, once round.— Loiret, 10.7, 1; The Squatter, 10.4, 2; Claughton, 9.0, 3. Also started —EI Dorado, Water-o'-Milk, Perchance. Won by a bare length. Time, lmin 57sec. Hunt Cup Steeplechase, about 2-J miles.—G. B. Todd's ch g Chief, by Jet de Eau 11.0, carried 11.7, 1; Sylvia Maid, 11.0, 2. Also startedZammerzet. 11.0, ar.d Takely, 11.0, who both fell, and did not finish. Won hard held by three-quarters of a length. Time, smin 35sec. Trial Hack, 5 furlongs. Waimoe, 9.2, 1; Stourton, 9.2, 2; Waimoumou, 9.3, 3. Also started—Vedy. Won by a couple of lengths. Time, lmin 6sec. Hunters' Flat Handicap, 1J mil j. Brown Belt, 12.0, 1; Gold Shower, 11.12, 2; Impossible, 11.0, 3. Also started—Kaiwaka Maid, Mother Goose. Won by two lengths. Time, 2min 55sec. Second Open Flat, 6 furlongs.— Rock Ferry, 10.12, 1; Resign, 2; Burton, 3. Also started—Loiret, The Squatter, The Clipper, Cork, Outlaw, Mokaia. Won by three lengths. Time, lmin 19sec. Hunters' Final Steeplechase, about 2 miles. —Snooker, 11.3, 1; Takely,
11.3, 2. Only the two started. Won by half a length. Time, smin 18sec.
