Mr J. Trevor has been nominated to fill the vacancy on the Board of Trustees of the Wellington Hospital, created by the death of the late Mr W. H. Hales. Mrs T. M. Wilford, accompanied by her son, will Jeave'for Auckland to-day to join the Kaikoura, which leaves port for London on Saturday. Mr Wilford, jmr., is proceeding Home to study tlectrical and general engineering at the Glasgow Technical College and Denny's Engineering Work?. Mr Gof.r/e Musgrove, manager of Ihe well-ki. ..v;i opera company, arrived in Au.i.iand from Sydney by the Wimmera on Sunday. Mr Musgrove was last in Nlw Zen land with the German Grand Opera Company a. couple of years ago. Mr Chung Slang Wang, secretary, to Mr Yung Liang Hwang, the Chinese Consul, arrivtd from London; yesterday morning by the Tongariro. Mr Wang has gained distinction as a Chinese scholar, and, under MrHwang, will take charge of the Chinese and literary department at the Consulate, a department of some importance in the moral and intellectual life of the Chinese in New Zealand. Mr Wang was formerly secretary to an important railroad cumpar.y in China.
