KACING. WAIRARAPA HUNT CLUB STEEPLECHASE MEETING. The annual Steeplechase Meeting of the Wairarapa Hunt Club will be held on the Taratahi-Carterton Racing Club's Course, at Clareville, on Thursday, August 29th next. The programme is made up of seven events, chief of which is the Tara- , tahi Steeplechase Handicap. Of the other events two are steeplechases, one hurdle race and three flat races. Entries for all events close with the Secretary, Mr N. H. James, Masterton, at 9 p.m., on Saturday, August 14th. MARTON JOCKEY LCUB. ANNUAL MEETING. Attention is directed to the full programme published elsewhere for the annual gathering of the Marton Jockey Club, on September Ist and 2nd. The bill of fare caters for all classes, and as the Marton course is situated at an important railway junction, a large and representative attendance may be expected. There need be no fear of horses' prospects being jeopardised at Marton as the M.J.C. has wisely secured the services of Mr C O'Connor as starter. Nominations for all events are due on August 13th with Mr Arthur Way, secretary, who will ; be pleased to make arrangements for stabling accommodation upon requirements being made known to him.
