QUEENSLAND RAILWAY ACCIDENT.
SEVERAL REMARKABLE ESCAPES. Received July 26, 10.10 a.m. BRISBANE, July 26. The cause of the disastrous railway accident is unsolved. Investigation shows that the carriage following the engine leit the rails three chains before reaching the 1 bridge. The engine and tender crossed safely, but the carriages toppled over. The driver showed great presence of mind in pulling up smartly. The overturned carriages at the bridge were completely wrecked. The eighty passengers on the train included the members of Her Majesty's Moving Theatre, whose property came in useful in rescuing innprisoned passengers and accommodating the wounded. Reeves and Mackie were kille I bybeing partly projected through the window and then dragged along. Many miraculous escapes are reported. A man and a little girl were thrown through the windows. The injured are doing well.
