THE FROLICS.
That comedy entertainment is rapidly gaining in popularity was svidenced by the hearty rounds of applause which greeted the efforts of 'The Frolics" at the Town Hall, Masterton, last evening. From the *ise of the curtain the members kept :hings going along merrily, and ;vith no small measure of success, rhe items were so numerous and mcores so readily given, that it vould be impossible to deal with ach riumber. Mr Selwyn Reeves has i very pleasing tenor voice, and v hat s of greatest importance, handles it apably. His song "Take a Pair of iparkling Eyes," was most enjoyble. Mr Edward Headlam,- as a ociety entertainer, gave some clever nd artistic musical monologues and ketches. The comedy was in capable aDds, Mr Courtney Ford being aparently in his element. These three entlemen also contributed a trio The Zuyder Zee," and we would jggest that they make more of a Decialty of these, the tlending of le voices resulting in some of leir best concerted wo<k Mips Ida erex's interpretation of "The Dear Id Gate" was distinctly clever, the stage grouping" lending to the gen- •;-;! effect. Miss Alice, Vaughan was ■v.rd tu h<;\bMage in "Mister Gollyeg," the "ii< llywofis" materially sjEtiug. We can artily recommend this entertain■nt to all who like a good laugh, 3 also those who appreciate music a high standard.
