SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. CARTERTON v. GREYTOWN. The Carterton and Greytown Seniors met, at Carterton, on Saturday last, and an interesting game resulted in a draw, each side scoring three points. In the first spell Balfour kicked a penalty goal for Greytown, and in the second half Fairbrother scored a try for Carterton from a splendid passing rush. GLADSTONE v. LOWER VALLEY.
Gladstone and Lower Valley seniors met at Gladstone, and after a good exhibition of football the game resulted in favour of Gladstone by 14 points to 3. The play was very open, being mostly a back game, the Gladstone men being very good in this division. For the winners, Nitz, A. Hodge, D. Thomson and R. McLaren scored tries, one of which was converted by Sid Mason. J. Russell secured a try£ for Lower Valley. Mr A. B. Charters made a very efficient referee. JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. I CARTERTON v. LIBERAL, j The Carterton Juniors defeated ! Liberal Juniors, at Carterton, by 9 points to nil. RED STAR v. LOWER VALLF.Y. Lower Valley Juniors forfeited to | Red Star Juniors. THIRD-CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP. MASTERTON v. RED STAR. Masterton defeated Red Star by 6 points to nil. The scores were made up by a try by W. Billington and a I penalty goal from a difficult angle, kicked by E. Fisher. CARTERTON v. DALEFIELD. One of the hardest matches in the ■ third-class championship was fought out at Dalefield on Saturday between the local team and Carterton. Atter a fadt game the match resulted in a draw—Dalefield 3, Carterton 3.
