CARTERTON NEWS.
(From Our Resident Reporter). Friday. Out of twenty-eight applications for the managership of the Taratahi Dairy Factory, Mr W. R. Harkness, of the Waitohi Factory, Tua Marina, was to-day selected for the position. The General Committee of the South Wairarapa Poultry Association met this afternoon, Mr C. Reid presiding. One resignation was accepted, ard three new members were elected. Mr H. J. E. Meyrick was I elected delegate to the annual meeting of the North Island Poultry AssoI ciation at Palmerston North on August Uh. Mr W. J. Woii the 1 appro* priation of the Wairarapa terminating Building Society last evening. There was a good attendance at the benefit social held last evening in Victoria Hall, in aid of Mr H. Henderson. The floor was in capital order, and excellent music was played by Messrs R. Crawley (piano), E. B. Hall (cornet), and H. Woodley (violin). Messrs N. McKenzie, J. McGuinness, and F. Groube ably carried out the duties of M's.C. During the evening several extras and vocal items were contributed.
