ARMING THE AFGHANS.

INDIAN GOVERNMENT MUCH CONCERNED. Received July 23, 9.5 p.m. CALCUTTA, July 23. Reuter's Simla correspondent says that the Ameer of Afghanistan and the Kabul officials are giving all facilities for the general arming of the Afghans and border tribes. The latter are steadily procuring better weapons, and large numbers of repeifing rifles have been sent to Herat and other stations. The whole question is giving much concern to the Indian Government.
