HOCKEY.

A meeting of the Ramblers Hockey ulub will be held this evening at 7.30 o'clock at the residence of the Secretary (Miss F. Miller), Queen street, when arrangements are to be made in connection with the annual social and dance. The Kia Toa Club (Greytown) have won the Age Cup for the season 1909, and are to be congratulated on their splendid performance. They have one more match to play, and so far this season have not been defeated, neither have they had a goal scored against them. At Greytown yesterday, a Carterton team met and defeated a Masterton representative team by 4 goals to 1 goal. Reid, Fairbrother, W. Fi3her and Tunnicliffe scored for the winners and A. C. Pragnell for the losers. The Kia Toa and Ramblers Club played a match for the Age Cup on the Showgrounds, yesterday afternoon. Rain fell practically during the whole game. In the first spell Kia Toa registered three goals, but in the second half Ramblers played a better game, and notwithstanding that they were without the service of Miss K. O'Leary during the whole spell through illness, they keenly contested every inch of ground with their redoubtable opponents, there being no score. Mr B. Iveson was referee. The visitors were subse-

quently entertained by the Ramblers at tea.
