"THE GRAND"
No doubt the failures of the earlier "talking machines" have created in some uninitiated minds a latent pr - judice, which the sight of tne familiar trumpet titirs to life, and ence roused it is onlv the marvel of the true Gramophone reproduction that can allay it. With the Gramophone Grand there is no prejudice to be overcome. Outwardly it is a handsome piece of mahogany furniture, with no visible signs of ifs purpose; before the hearer's prejudice is awakened, before he realises that he is in the presence of some great singer's voice, his misconceptions are shattered by the wonderful faithfulness of the music, and he is converted forthwith to the Gramophone. One of these machines is now on view at "The Talkeries," Masterton, where it is tobe delivered to fill a local order. This beautiful instrument costs £7O, and those interested should call and see and hear it during the next two days. There are also on view a large selection of new gramophone records, including "Red Wing," a great favourite.
