HOCKEY.
A match is to be played at Masterton, on Thursday. August 12th, between the Ramblers Ladies' Clab and Konini Ladies' Club (a smart Club from the Forty-Mile Bush). The team to represent the Huias against the W.F.C. A. B team, on the Showgrounds, on Thursday, at 2.30 p.m., will be selected from the following:—Misses E. Peters, D. La Roche, A. Ball, L. Reynolds, B. Johnson W. Rayner, M. Wagg, E. \sarr, O. Richards,. F. Biden, G. Dalrymple, M. Hatch, and E Finnis. A match (men in skirts v. ladies) will be played on the Showgrounds' to-morrow afternoon, and promises to be of an interesting character. Another attraction on the Showgrounds on the same afternoon will be the match between the Rambler and Kia Toa Ladies' Clubs. The latter are leading for the Age Cup, and Ramblers occupy second place. It certainly promises to be the most keenly contested match played for the Cup this season. As considerable interest is being taken in the match there is sura to be a large attendance A match will be played to-morrow aftertnoon, at Greytown, between Masterton and Carterton Senior teams. The local players will leave the Post Office, at 1.30 o'clock sharp.
