Mr Keir Hardie, M.P., speaking in Northumberland, advocated a general stoppage of work on the British coal fields in support of the Scotch miners. . He wanted to see the solidarity of the working class movement exemplified in this struggle. MINERS IMPRISONED. Received July 19, 11p.m. LONDON, July 19. One hundred and sixty miners were summoned at uateshead (a town on the northern verge of the County of Durham), for non-payment of damages for the stoppage of work at a pit. The men were sentenced to seven days' imprisonment, and will; be imprisoned in batches. I
