AUSTRALIAN MAIL CONTRACT.
A FIRM SUED. CASE DISMISSED, Received July 19, 8.50 a.m. LONDON, July 18. Mr Lawford, a solicitor, of Tunbridge Wells, Kent, sued the Arm-strong-Whitworth Company for £20,000, being commission of 2£ per cent, upon the Commonwealth mailships contract. Paintiff stated that ,he proposed the scheme to Mr Deakm in 1905, and after securing his approval he "approached Armstrong's firm. Lord Alverscone, Lord Chief Justice, decided that there was no case to go to the jury.
