CARLTON CRICKET CLUB.

ANNUAL SOCIAL. The sixth annual and dance, under the auspices of the Carlton Cricket Club, was held in, the Foresters' Hall last evening. The fine bracing weather attracted a very large attendance, over eighty couples occupying the floor. The arrangements made in connection with the function were most complete, and thp result was a mnst successful evening's enjoyment. The floor was in capital order, and the music supplied by Mr McKenzie was all that could be desired. Extras were played by Misses J. Hogg, N. Hogg, O'Dowd, and Mr B. Clayson. Messrs E. Welch, Bert. Welch, and Arthur Styles carried out the duties of M.'s.C. in an efficient manner. To the secretary, Mr F. P. Welch, great praise is due for his untiring efforts in the direction of making the gathering a pleasant one, and he was ably assisted by Mr W. Piatt, president of the Club, and Mensra E. Welch (captain), and A. Styles. M"ch of thp success of the dance is due to the ladies, and among those who assisted were Mesdames J. Welch, W. Piatt, J. Cochrane, A J. Giddings, B. Welch, Tait. Ashton, and Misses Ivy Welch, McLachlan, Thompson, and Stempa. The supper room was laid out in a most attractive manner, the dainty and choice edibles being supplied by enthusiastic supporters of the Club.
