AN INNOVATION.
At the meeting of the Masterton A. and P. Association 'on Saturday, Mr A. J. Stone-Wig<£ mentioned that the Wellington Racing Club is increasing its staKes for weight-fur-age races. Out ot the stake ?5 per cent, is to be given to the winner, and 25 per cent to the A. and P. Associations in the thoroughbred classes. I Mr StoneWigg, Messrs 0. C. Cooper, and W. E. BiJwill were appointed to ascertain what benefit would accrue to the Masterton Association through the Wellington Racing Club's innovation.
