NON-STRIKERS ATTACKED
United Press Asso:u'in —Mv Kleccric Telesjrap Copyright. Received July 9, 8.30 a.m. OTTAWA, July 8. A section of workers employed by the Dominion Coal Company struck for higher wages. The strikers are members of the American Mineworkers' Association, an American organisation, the remainder belonging to the Provincial Workmen's Association. The latter did not strike. A thousand strikers attacked the non-strikers at .Place Bay (?). The Riot Act was read. Fifteen hundred troop 3 and two machineguns have been sent to preserve Order. The Montreal "Star M states that a powerful business corporation in the United States supports the United members.
