The strikers are members of the American Mineworkers' Association, an American organisation, the remainder belonging to the Provincial Workmen's Association. The latter did not strike. A thousand strikers attacked the non-strikers at .Place Bay (?). The Riot Act was read. Fifteen hundred troop 3 and two machineguns have been sent to preserve Order. The Montreal "Star M states that a powerful business corporation in the United States supports the United members.
