AN ARREST MADE.

On the arrival of the Wairarapa train, this afternoon, Detective Quirk arrested Michael Brennan, alleged to be an old offender, on sua* picion of being connected with the robbery from, St. Mark'B Vicarage, •Wellington, on Tuesday.' tfrennafc 1 had a through ticket to Auckland, , and was evidently intending to go on by the Main Trunk express. He hadL, thirteen pounds in cash upon hint/ ■' and three gold rings, two gpld v pert-' - cils, four brooches, fours pairs gold,' sleeve links and various other gold" - articles alleged to be identical with the articles missed by tne Rev. Mr , Johnson.
