MATCH AGAINST SCOTLAND.

A two days' match against Scotland was begun by the Australian cricketers at Edinburgh to day. The weather was pleasnt, but the wicket was soft About five thousand spectators were present. JMoble won the toss, and sent the Scottish team to the wickets. A poor stand was made against the bowling of Hopkins and O'Connor, the innings closing for 93 runs. Hopkins secured four wickets for 18 runs, and O'Connor three for 23. The Australians, in their first innings, made 121 —Noble 20, Cotter 25, Macartney (not out) 21. Ringrove took five wickets for 48 runs, and Broadbent five for 61.

Scotland, in the second innings, had made 40 runs without the loss of a wicket when play closed for the day.
