Bates' general weather forecast: — Cold and changeable weather expected generally, with the barometer :rising very high; strong southerly winds pfobabie everywhere, and probably accompanied by raw weather conditions on the East Coast south of East Cape, for a short time; seas IP rough on West and East Coasts, except north of East Cape.

Mr ,J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall registered at Upper Plain for the 24 hours preceding 9 a.m. on Tuesday was 14 points.
