RAILWAY APPEAL BOARD.

WELLINGTON, June 27.
A number of appeals by railway men to the Nortb, Island Railway Ap*\ peal Board have been dealt With, by the Minister of Railways. Thos. Edward Huchings, a train examiner, at Woodville, and H. J. Seaton, train examiner at Cross Ceeky appealed against their reduction from grade Ito grade 2 in consequence of the general revision of the classification list, following the Act of 1907. These appeals, though favourably reported on by the Board, were disallowed by the Minister. " : James McGurk, engine-driver, and J. A. Shelton, shunter, appealed against their dismissal owing to a c&Hiaion between a shunting engine and a mail train at Marton.' These appeals were disallowed. The Board had suggested a reduction of the penalty in the case of McGurk.
