THE VANCOUVER SERVICE.

It is the Abbey line of cargo steamers trading between Vancouver, New Zealand, and Australia, and to which New- Zealand contributes an annual subsidy of £IO,OOO, which is referred to in to-day's cables. New Zealand's subsidy expired in April, and was not renewed. Canada is not prepared to pay alone the "subsidy which the contractors ask.
