THRILLING STORY.

WAR AGAINST REBELS. MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN SUFFOCATED. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright. Received June 25, 10.35 a.m. SYDNEY, June 25. Eastern files contain a thrilling story in connection with the war against the Chinese rebels m Sumatra. The Government troops located a band of rebels in a large cave. As they refused to surrender by order of the military commander, a fire wag lighted south of the cave, kept going for a while and then extinguished. The rebels still remaining obdurate, the fire was relighted. When the cave was examined, five men, twelve women, and eleven children were found suffocated. The Governor of Acheen was so shocked at the occurrence that he issued an order to prevent further similar horrors.
