METHODIST CHURCH.
ANNIVERSARY SERVICES.
The anniversary services of the Methodist Church will be held tomorrow, when three special ssrvices will be conducted at 11 o'clock in the mornine. 3 o'clock in the afternoon, and 7 o'clock in the evening. The Rev. C. E. Porter will preach on the three occasions, his subjects being "Will Christianity Ultimately Pre vail?" and "The Power and Responsibility of Chosing." Special anthems will be rendered by the Choir under the conductorship of Mr S. H. Ralph, in the morning and evening. The afternoon service at 3 o'clock will be of a special character. The Sunday School scholars will render special hymne, and a bright, short address to children will be delivered by t.e Minister. Mr Ralph has charge of the singing by the scholars. On Thursday next, July Ist, there will be a Conversazione in the the Town Hall, when brief reports of the year's operations and the balancesheet will be presented. A choice programme of instrumental and vocal music, with a short speech or two, has been arranged and refreshments will be dispersed by the ladies of the congregation. The chief speaker of the evening will be the Chinese Consul for New Zealand, the Hon. Mr Yung Liang Hwang. Mr Yung is a man of high culture, and a graduate of a well-known American University. He is a firstclass speaker, and will have something of great interest to say concerning the ancient Chinese Empire.
