A concert and dar.c3 in aid of the funds of the DaleSeld School is being arranged fur Friday, July 2nd. Th 3 children attending the school are practising hard ior the entertainment, and will be assisted by a number of adults. As the object is one which is deserving of supDort, it is sincerely hoped that the ';.-oi\3 ~~ the promoters will be reward- wit" u large audience. At the Manawatu.Winter Show, at Palmerston Mortb, Mrs A. Meyrick, J of Carterton, was a successful exhibitor in the duck class. Mrs Meyrick Iwae awarded first prize for a Pekin drake over twelve months, and secured first and second for ducks. In the Leghorn class, Mr E. B. Eagle was a successful exhibitor in the "any other variety," class with Buff
Leghorns. A London correspondent, writing under date of May 14th, states that Mr and Mrs H. H. Wolters, of Carterton, were among the passengers of the N.D L.steamer Bremen, which arrived at Southampton in the early part of the previous week. They intended going abroad almost immediately, and to eo back to London in June. The voyage to New Zealand is to be made via Vancouver, towards the end of the year. The Dalefield Football Club is in receipt of a guinea donation from Mr j J. H. August, a vice-president. The four handsome golJ med?ls, the gift of Mr W. M. Halley, of the Marquis of Normanby Hotel, to the Gladstone and Carterton football clubs, are at present on view in the window of Messrs H. Keltie and Co., jewellers. Each club receives two, and they are to be awarded to the back and best.forward in the senior teams. ..
