RECHABITE TENT.

QUARTERLY SUMMONED

MEETING.

The quarterly summoned meeting of the Masterton Rechabite Tent was held in the Dominion Hall, last evening. Bro. L. Jones, D.R., occupied the chair, and there was a large attendance of members. Business of a routine nature was transacted, and one new menrber was proposed. Bro. C. Feilding wad re-appointed delegats to the Friendly Societies' Council.

It was decided to accept an invitation from the Good Templars to take part in a Church parade to the Methodist Church, the date to be fixed.

The Secretary of the Friendly Societies Council forwarded tickets for the forthcoming social and dance, to be held in the Foresters' Hall on July 15th.

Bro. L. Jones and D. Threadwell signified their intention to be present at the Lodge Conference at Palmerston North to-day. The election of officars for the ensuing six months resulted as follows: —Chief Ruler, Bro. L. Jones; Deputy Ruler, Bro. L. Thoumine; Treasurer, Bro. J. Heyhoe; Secretary, Bro. Wm. Easthope; Book Steward, Bro. Tornquist; Cash Stew- | ard, Bro. W. Andrews; Levite, Bro. P. Gilbert; Guardian, Bro. G. Hursey. Ths above officers were subsequently installed, each thanking the members for the positions they had been placed in. Bro. R. Sutherland acted as scrutineer. The receipts for the evening amounted to £23 17s 9d. At the next fortnightly meeting of the Tent, on July 6th, the subject for the evening is—"Trial by Jury."
