WELLINGTON WOOL AND SKIN SALES.

Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., report as follows regarding Friday's sale:—We offered 45 hales wool, 2,500 skins, 600 hides and calfskins, and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. There was a good attendance of buyers, and bidding was very spirited for everything offering. Wool —The catalogue was largely composed of crutchings which met with strong demand and sold at very satisfactory prices. We quote— Crossbred fleece 5d to 7fd, iambs, Gd to 7fd; superior crutchings, 3d to sfd; medium crutchings, 4d to 4£a; inferior crutchings 3d to 4d: pieces and bellies, 2d to 4d; locks, l£d to 3d. Skins—Market very strong and advanced a half penny. We quote—Fine crossbreds, 7d to crossbreds, 6d to 7£d; dead skins, 3d to s£d; dead hoggets, 4d to 6d; short wools, 4d to 4£d; dry pelts, 2Jd to 4Jd; green skins, 4s 2d; lamb skins 3s to 3s 3'; lamb pelts, Is 6d to 2s 9d. Tall w —Firm. Parcels in shipping order, .£24. Tins, £lB to £2O 10s; fat, £lO to £ls. Horsehair—ls to Is 4d per lb. Horns—ss to 16s per hundred. Cow tails —Is 3d to Is lOd per dozen. Hides—Steady. Good competition, but the late high prices were not maintained. Market for ox was a farthing lower; light temined steady. Calf advanced a half-penny. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Ltd., report as follows: —We bdd our usual fortnightly sale on Friday. We are pleased to report higher prices for wool and skin?, the advance on fleece wool and sheepskins b=3ing from £d to |d per lb. Crutchings were firm at last sale prices. Hides in sympathy with Australian markets were lower by £d to id per lb, but calfskins were in keen demand at id advance on late rates.
