The first round for the President's trophy will be pl-jyed on the local links on Saturday next, and as players xanoi't that the new links are an improvement to any they have had before, some good games are anticipated.

Komui thus won by 6 points to nil. Konini are now in thy lead for the Banner with G points, Nireaha and have 5 points each, Pahiatua 4 and Hamua nil. Owing to the match Puketoi v. Bush, at Makuri, on Saturday next, all Banner fixtures have been postponed. For the School Shield Eketahuna School will play Mangatainoka on Saturday next, at the latter place. Although there is no hotel at Nireaha, the Konini team on Saturday did nor have to travel home without a tea, they being entertained right royally by the Nireaha team. This action was heartily appreciated by the visiting team.
