PRESS DELEGATES.
VISIT TO SHEFFIELD, Received June 18, 8.45 a.m. LONDON, June 17. The delegates to the Imperial Cor.ference visited Sheffiield, and saw the making of a 12in gun at the establishment of Messrs Vickers, Son and Maxim, and the rolling of a 25 ton armour plate. Mr M'Donald, of Christchurch, in thanking Culonel Vickers, referred to his own early experience as a railway engineer, v/hich enabled him to appreciate the firm's sterling work. To-day the delegates are motoring in the Peak district. After lunching at Chatsworth, the seat of the Duke of Devonshibe, they proceed to Buxton, Stockport and Manchester.
