CHARGES OF THEFT.
YOUTHS CONCERNED. At the Masterton Police Court, yesterday, Thoims ChrisMe, a lad 14 years of age, was charged that on May 22nd be did commit the theft of one brief bag, valued at 10s, the property of George E. Reynolds; that on June sth he did commit the theft of one hand-bag and contents, valued at £2, the property of Ina Strang; that on May 25th he did commit the theft of one hymn-bock, one paper •weight, om screw-drirer, and other articles valued at 10s, the property of Frederick Fabian, and that between June Ist and sth he did receive from Gordon Challis one coat, one jersey, one suit of pyjamas, one shirt, one piece of silk, one pair of braces and one handkerchief, valued at £2 19s 3d, the property of Warnock and Adkin, knowing the same to have been dishonestly obtained. , Gordon Challis was charged with haing stolen the articles mentioned in the last charge from Warnock and Adkin. Both accused pleaded guilty. Sergeant Miller stated that Christie was employed as Hannah's as messenger boy, and became acquainted with Gordon Challis, who worked at Warnock and Adkin's. Between the they stole the goods, which were found, hidden under Christie's father's house. Christie had been previously convicted, and he was ordered to be Kent to a reformatory school, his father being ordered to pay 5s per week towards his support. Challis was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon.
