FOOTBALL PLAYERS AND DENTISTS' BILLS.

The Auckland Rugby Union'pays for repairs to the teeth of players in j'jred in playing matches, but it pays only such expenses as seem reasonable to the committee. Last night, at their meeting, they decided that gold-fillings were not reasonable. A player, who had had a front tooth chipped, forwardeJ. a dentist's bill for one guinea, and the Union -Committee decided to offer him half a guinea, and suggest that he pay the rest of the amount himself.
