At the inquest on Mrs Horsfall, who died from injuries sustained by a fall from a Onehunga tram-car, the jury found that death resulted from the deceased being thrown off by the car starting before she had time to alight in safety. Chas. Halley (motorman) and Herbert Berkitt (conductor) were charged with manslaughter in connection with the fatality, and have been remanded.
