A VILLAGE DESTROYED,

United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright. Received June 14, 8.40 a.m. PARIS, June 13. The seismic wave in France lasted fiom 9.15 to 9.40 at night. There were four shocks of earthquake. Luckily they, occurred just before bedtime', otherwise there would have been hundreds of victims. Fifteen persons were killed at Lambese, 15 miles north-west of Aix, and the village of Roques was entirely destroyed. Twenty bodies have been found in the village. DEATH-ROLL MOUNTING UP. MANY STILL IN /THE RUINS. June 14, 9.5 a.m. PARIS, June 14. Several deaths from the earth' quake are reported to have occurred at St. Cannat, 12 miles north of Aix, where many are still buried in the ruins. Every house in some streets is destroyed. damage is estimated at over a million francs. Many people in Marseilles remained all night in fishing boats. Twenty thousand persons gathered on the qu«ys. Troops are assisting in rescue work. The dead were mostly killed while sleeping. WHOLE FAMILIES KILLED. ANOTHER SHOCK. Received June 14, 10.10 p.m. PARIS, June 14. The line of great destruction was north-east from the Aix River to Durance. The shocks began with a sound like the roll of thunder amidst a tempest of wind. The more solidly constructed buildings in the town resisted the shock, but there was great destruction in the little hamlets. In some cases whole families were kiljed. Quantities of tents and food have Deen sent to devastated districts. The shock was intense all along the French Mediterranean shore. There were slighter shocks from Montpelher to Grenoble and Perpignan and Avignon.. Some shocks were felt in Alian in the Rivjera, and also on both sides of Mont Blanc and in Spain and Por-, tugal. There was furtner shocks at 6 o'clock yesterday morning. The water in the wells in several places remained tepid for hours.
