THE DREADNOUGHT GIFT.
— "SIMPLY ABSURD." Received June 14, 11.50 p.m. SYDNEY, June 14. Sir William Lyne, replying at Tumut to the local municipal council's request that he should vote for a Dreadnought, said that he thought the gift of a Dreadr.ought simply absurd, because it would be old iron in seven or tight years' time The question of expense was not worth consideration, but the money would be much better spent in carrying out what the Imperial Government wants us to do for our protection here, and not simply by holding up a blanket.
