STOCK MARKET.
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Masterton stock sale held yesterday as follows: They offered an average yarding in both sheep and cattle. The quality of the sheep yarded for the most part was only medium, consequently bidding was not too brisk. We. however, quitted the bulk of the yarding before the and of the day. In cattle we offered a good yarding of uselful sorts, and prices were on a par with late sales. We quote:— Sheep.—Fat ewes, 10s 3d to 12s 8d for an extra prime line of maiden ewes; empty forward ewes, 7s lid to 8s; 2 tooth wethers, 10s 7d to lis 6d; 4 tooth wethers, good, 12s 9d; ewes in lamb, medium, 9s lOd to lis 8d: poorer sorts, 6s to 7s Id. Cattle: —Fat cows, medium, £3 to £3 15s; fat heifers, £3 15s to £iss; store cows, 22s 6d to £2 3s; weaners, 19s to 255; cows in calf, £2 lis to £3; grown bullocks, £4 16s to £5 16s; three year old steers, £4 9s to £4 Us; 18 months to 2yr steers, £2 13s to £3 7s 6d.
