TROUBLE IN MASONIC CIRCLES.
ELECTION OF A GKANDMASTER. Received June 10, 12.5 a.m. SYDNEY, June 9. Considerable trouble exists between a section of the Masons over the election of a Grandmaster. W hen Lord Chelmsford became Governor it was suggested that he should receive the position, but Mr Nesbitt, Town Clerk, insisted that he had a prior claim, and informed Lord Chelmsford to that effect. The latter did not reply to the letter, but sent it to the Grand Lodge. Subsequently tho Governor complied with the request of a deputation to allow himself to be nominated, but to-day he withdrew his name. Another candidate has therefore been nominated to oppose Mr Nesbitt.
