PAUPERISM IN LONDON.
A DECREASE. Received June 4, 8.10 a.m. LONDON, June 3. Mr John Burns, President of the Local Government Board, speaking at the National Liberal Club, stated that there were twelve hundred fewer paupers in London than at the end of February, and one thousand fewer than in June, 1908. That indicated, said Mr Burns, that trade was reviving.
