(From Our Resident Reporter). Monday. It is to be regretted that the performance to be given by the "Dr. Barnardo Boys" will clash with the complimentary social to Mr R. B. Ross, M.P., both events talcing place on Wednesday evening. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., have a good yardmg of stock to submit at their P.F.A. sale tomorrow (Tuesday). Messrs Hare and Evans, lard agents, report the sale of 174 acres at Mangahao, known as "Wyatt's Estate," to Mr J. B. Matthews, of Mangahao.
The New Zealand Loan and Mer-cantile-Agency Co., Ltd., had a good entry of both sheep and cattle at their Pongaroa sale on Friday last. Stock sold well at full market lates, and practically a total clearance was effected.
No bankruptcies were recorded Pahiatua during April or May.
In connection with the Bush Rugby Union Banner matches, Nireaha journeyed to Hamua on Saturday last, and met the local team, it was expected;that Nireaha would put up a big score, but H;imua, :vl ' rugh a lighter team, played a good game. The only score was a penalty goal, scored by the visitors. Mr G. Smith was referee. Nireaha Juniors defeated Eketahuna Juniors by 9 to 3.
Last week at Woodville Miss Brosnahan, who for some considerable time has acted as organist at one of the Churches, was presented by the choir with a silver back hand mirror, and a cut glass silver trinket box, as a slight appreciation of the services she had rendered as organist. Mr Brosnahan, who has been for many years connected with the Police Force, intends, with his family to reside on his farm near the Konini railway station. Over forty riders followed the •'hounds nn Saturday at "Oete," twelve of this lady riders^ At the "Mart" on Saturday the following prices were obtained for pigs:—Weaners. 7s 6d; slips, 10s; stores, 28s 6d. There Will be no half holiday on Wednesday afternoon, all the shops closing the following day for the Prince of Wales' Birthday. So far no football matches have been arranged for on the Recreation Ground on Thursday next. In Mr W. I. Husband's window are to large swede turnips, which were grown on a farm in the Ballance district, and which Mr Husband has on his books for sale. One of the swedes when put on the scales wsighed 13Jlbs. Footballers will please note that the Banner matches held under the auspices Bush Rugby Union will not be affected by the Prince of Wales' Birthday, and matches will be played on Saturday next
