IMPERIAL CONFERENCE.
SHOULD THE PREMIER AND MR MASSEY ATTEND.
VIEWS OF LEGISLATORS.
A number of Auckland members of Parliament have been interviewed regarding the proposal that the Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition should attend the Imperial Conference. The Hon. S. Thorne George and Mr Baume think that Parliament should hold only a short session at present, and that the leaders of the two parties should attend the conference.
The Hon, W. Beehan holds the same opinion, provided Mr Massey will support Sir Joseph Ward on all important issues. Mr Bollard thinks that both leaders should go Home, but thac the work of Parliament should proceed, leaving over all contentious proposals except the native land question.
Sir Maurice O'Rorke and Mr Poland think that Parliament should adjourn, and that Sir Joseph Ward should go to the conference, but they see no necessity for Mr Massey, accompanying him.
Mr Glover thinks that both the Prime Minister and Mr Massey should go Homeland he would not object to Parliament adjourning, although he would like to see the business of the conutry gone on with.
