WELLINGTON LAND BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Wellington Land Board was held on Thursday last. The Board approved the following applications for transfers on the usual conditionsSection 27, block 7, Makuri, 120 acres, Thomas McQuinn to C. J. Lankey; section 2, black 5, ML Cerberus, 200 acres, mortgagee of J. ,J. Gosling to Mrs M. A. McKay, (subject tn proof of compliance with the Land Act, 1908); section 61, Hastwell Village Settlement, 28| acres, .1. Bray tr W. Bray; seciton 37, block 4, Mt. Cerberus, 200 acres, G. H. Fulcher to J. M. McKenzie; sections 6 and 7, block 1, Mangahao, 393 acres, W. Cox to J. A. Lawson. The transfer of the sub-lease of section 38, block 7, Tararua, from H. Hanson to J. Gibson, was agi'eed to. A title as follows was approved on the usual conditions —Section 1, block 10, Mt. Cerberus, 225 acres, to A. C. Herbert. MrW. McDonald applied to transfer section 61, block 7, Tararua, Nireaha Village Settlement, 54 acres, to Mr M. Rundell, but it was resolved not to approve of his request. Messrs F. W. Smith and G. A. Monk applied to transfer sections 3, 4, 7, 8, 9 and 10, block 10, Kaitawa, 46 acres and 24£ acres, to Dr, C. P. Knight.—lt was decided to approve the request. Mr T. J. McQuinn applied to transfer sections 6 and 3a, block 2, Mt. Cerberus, 202 acres, to H. J. Holmes. The Board resoived to postpone for further inquiries from the Crown Lands Ranger. With reference to Miss F. D. Baucke's application to sublet section 53, block 1, Mangaone, 26J acres, a report was received from the Crown Lands Ranger, and it was resolved not to approve, and to intimate that the lessee should either reside or transfer to someone who would do so. A report , was received from the Crown Lands Rangeiv on the present value of Mr James Todd's sections 11 and 21, blocks 9 and 5, Huangarua, j Tawaha Settlement, 76 acres, for the | purpose of conversion to renewable , lease, and it was resolved to advise ; the selector of its effect. A report was received from the | Crown Lands Ranger on the present j value of Mr E. R. Macdonald's sec--1 tion 15, block 5, Huangarua, Tawaha Settlement, 120 acres, for the purpose of conversion to renewable lease, and it was resolved to advise the selector thereof. ; Messrs G. R. and A. A. Hutching were granted permission to transfer ; the lease of sections part 30 and 31, block 4, Mt. Cerberus, 100 acre 3, to G. R. Hutching, to whom the board had already approved of a lease of section 32, block 4, Mt. Cer'jerus. Mrs C. C. Drinkwater applied to be allowed to occupy section 31, block 4, Pukstoi, 7 acres, road reserve —it was resolved to approve the license being issued to her from year to year at a rental of 15s per

annum, subject to the usual conditions.

Mr F. Greenaway, an adjoining owner, and Mr W. Bainbridge, of Dyerville, applied to be allowed to lease section 6a, block 13, Huangarua, Dyer Settlement, area two ac'res, which was originally set aside as a creamery site. A report was received from the Crown Lands Raneer statinp- that tho r«.-.fcal should be £1 5s per annum, subject to the usual conditions as:d to no compensation for improvements being allowed, also that such occupation should be subect to determination at any time. It was resolved to lease to Mr Bainbridge, who had made the first application. The ranger repored that Mrs J. Hay, lessee of section 13, block J, Manghao, 192 acres, was residing with her and family on his freehold land adjoining, and it was re?olved to accept this as satisfactory in the meantime. The ranger reported that Miss V. M. Woolridge, lessea of lot 13 of section 8, block 14, Mangahao, 32 acres, was rending with her parents on her father's adjoining section 9, and it was resolved in accept this as satisfactory for the present.
