MASTERTON TECHNICAL SCHOOL.
MEETING OF MANAGERS. The monthly meeting of the Managers of the Masterton Technical School was held last evening. There were present: Messrs W. H.Jackson, Chairman, Very Rev. Dean McKenna, E. H. Waddington and C. E. Daniel.
An apology ior absence was received from the Chairman, Mr E Feist.
The Education Department wrote informing the Managers that in the event of the attendance, conduct, diligence or progress of any pupil holding a free place under ihe regulations for manual and technical education being deemed by the controlling authority of the class attended by each such pupil, and of any action that the controlling authority may have considered it necessary to take in connection therewith are to be at once forwarded to the Department. It was decided to forward the information asked for. Messrs J. and H. Holme 3 wrote stating that they had forwarded to Messrs Levin and Co. the wool promised for the wool classes. Mr F. E. Lamb, instructor in architectural drawing, reported that the Monday evening class—subject model drawing—had not been a success this term, owing to|hia not having been able to secure a sufficient number of students to form a class. Monday was a very unsuitable evening to hold the class owing to the commercial class, which was a compulsory one, being held on that evennig. and which prevented several intending students from attending. He stated that he would be glad if the Managers! would permit him to change the day and time from Monday to Saturday afternoon, 2.30 to 4.30, during the next term, as this day would be more convenient to the Junior school teachers, and he was assured of a good class attendance. He also reported that out of 14 students now attending his architectural drawing class, six had entered for the South Kensington Examination in building construction to be held next month.
The suggestion of the instructor was adopted.
