Mr E. H. Robieson, of Masterton. has purchased a farm at Waimera, in the Dannevirke district, and will leave for his new home in the course of a week or two. The Rev. James Chisholm, Moderator of the Presbyterian General Assembly, has received definite advice that Dr. Wilbur Chapman, who is conducting a mission in Australia, cannot spare time to pay a visit to New Zealand.
Mr Henry Driver Holloway, head of the famous firm of pillmakers, died on Easter Sunday at \Yiliersley, Surrey. He was a brother-in-law of the founder of the firm, and succeeded to the proprietorship of the business on the death of Thomas Holloway. Mr Guy H. Scholefield, a New Zealand journalist, has just been elected a Fellow of the Royal Colonial Institute. Mr Scholefield is at present residing in London.
The Mother Provincial of the Order of St. Bride's, who has been on a visit to the local Convent, left Masterton yesterday for New South Wales, She was accompanied by Mother Michael, who has been in indifferent health for some time past. Her place at the Convent will'be taken by Mother Stanislaus Hadyn. Mr H.JL. B. Smith, of the Palmerston North Banch of the Bank of Australasia, left Palmerston North, on Thursday last, for Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, where he has been transferred. Mr Smith has been,six years in Palmerston North, and during that time has closely identified himself with golf, tennis, football and cricket. He was also a member and secretary of the Liedertafel.
