AUSTRALIA V. OXFORD UNIVERSITY. A DRAWN GAME. United Press Association — Telegraph Copvrisut'. Received May 27, 9 a.m. LONDON, May 26. Play in the match Australia v. Oxford University was continued at Oxford to-day. Oxford made 132 in their first innings, and Australia lost three wickets for 167 in their second innings. The match was drawn. Following were the scores: — OXFORD UNIVERSITY. First innings 132 AUSTRALIANS. First innings 247 Second innings. Hartigan, b Gilbert 0 Bardsle'y, b Lowe 34 Ransford, c sub., b Hurst 58 Armstrong, not out 42 Gregory, not out 27 Extras ® Total for three wickets 167 Received May 27, 5.20 p.m. LONDON. May 27. The Australians' innings was .juarred by rain, and pay was not resumed after luncheon till 3.45. Showers fell at intervals afterwards. Hartigan's wicket fell for nil. The second wicket fell for 73, and the third for 105. Play was slow and uninteresting. Bardsley played Lowe on to the wicket. He batted 50 minutes. Hayward, who strained his knee in the Surrey-Australian match, has sufficiently recovered, and is going to Birmingham in connection with the test match.
THE TEST MATCH. Received May 28, J. 10 a.m. LONDON, May 27. It has been arranged to commence play in the test match to-day from 11.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m , and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Heavy rain' iu3t before 11 o'clock saturated the wicket, and play was impossible for a considerable time. The rain subsequently cleared and the sun is now shining. The teams are undecided whether to commence play.
