TO THE ELECTORS MASTERTON TRUST TRUST. Ladies and gentlemen,—ibeg to announce that I atn a candidate for one of the vacant seats io bo filled at the forthcoming eleetkn. As one who has spent his life in the neighbourhood of the Masterton Small Farms Settlement—to whose formation . the Trust owes its origin—l have watched the growth of the importance of the work the Tru&t has in hand, and realise that the Trustees have a very responsible duty to perform to the townspeople of Masterton and residents of the suburban area covered by the Trust. In asking for your support at the poll, on THURSDAY", I beg to state that if elected I shall at all times endeavour to merit the confidence reposed in me. I am, Ladies and Gentlemen, , Your obedient servant, HENRY EVANS. TO THE TRUST VOTERS. Ladies and gentlemen, For some fifteen years I have had the honour of representing you as a Trustee.- An election is to be held on Thursday next, and I again offer you my services, My views on Trust matters are fairly well known to you. Permit me to urge °.ll who are interested to record their votes. Careless or principles are apt to have indolent servants. Our ambition should be to hand on to outchildren the splondid endowment in much better condition than ever we found it. Kindly do your part, and I will try to do mme. C. E. DANIELL.
TRUST LANDS TKUSP ELECTION-. Ladies and gentlemen,—Having been nominated for a seat on the Trust, I have to respectfully inform you that if you do me the honour to elect me to one of the vacant seats it will be my earnest endeavow to carry out the objects for which the Trust was initiated. I fully recognise that the creators of the 'lrust were men who were endowed with foresight and.perpescuity, and who had very liberal views™ on the advantages of education which would accrue to future gtnera+ions, as giving opportunities to tlw poor man's children for .-cultivating their highest and best talents. I should bo loth to see those objects departed from, and it will be my study to see that all parts of the district, receive consideration, and that all schools established within tho boundaries of the Masterton Small Farm Settlement receive an equitable quota of the funds available from time to t mo. Dealing with vacant sections, which at present are almost unproductive, requires most careful thought, and I am quite against wild cat and speculative schemes, in dealing with such a va.liable endowment, an endowment wlujh I look upon as a saced heritage, fjr not only the present but future generations I regret that the Truste s, cn the eve of an election, Lave noi ' istued a lucid statement of the whole of their receipts and expenditure for the past year, even although the balance sheet has not been passed by the Government Audit. If I obtain a seat on your Trust I shall endeavour to have this ; state of affairs remedied. In my past public career I have always studied to act justly and, economically with due regard to prog vet p. J Yours faithfully, ' ELI 8 Jill H.
