EFFORTS FOR FUSION.

At the conclusion oi a protracted conference with Mr Leader of the Opposition in the Federal House, Mr A. Deakin, ex-tVemier, stated: "We have made a substantial advance towards fusion. So far we have discovered no unbridgeable gulf."
The two leaders are to confer on unsettled points to-day.
