LONDON WOOL SALES.
Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, Wellington, have received the following cable advice from their London office under date of the Ist instant—"The wool sales closed firm and lately reported rates are fully maintained. As compared with the closing rates of last series good greasy merino combing wools are per cent; higher; otner descriptions of merino wools (greasy) 5 to 7i per cent higher except short and faulty descriptions, a change, if any, being in sellers favour. Fine and medium civssbreds arc 10 per cent higher, If wools are suitable for America prices are higher by 15 to 20 per cent. Coarse crossbreds have advanced, 11 per cent. The total net quadtity of wool available for sale amounted to 182,000 bales, of which 23,000 bales have been taken by America; BS,OOO bales have been sold, for Home consumption and 61,000 bales to the Continent, leaving 10,000 bales carried forward."
