OLD AGE PENSIONS.
A FRENCH SCHEME. PARIS, May 21. The Parliamentary Committee of the French Senate proposes a scheme of old age pensions, based on the earners contr,buting a minimum of 5s yearly, the employers adding ss. The Treasury is to provide pensions of £lO 13s 8d a year after the age of 65, with special provision for the sick 3«d infirm classes.
3 It is estimated that the employers' contribution under the scheme would amount to five millions, sterling annually.
