After breakfast, SlipperyQueen left five furlongs behind vew smartly. St. Bill and Win-aU w re given a couple of solid rounds stp-ir-ately. Tilson pleased the touts, covering a couple of rounds at three-quar-, ter pace, pulling double Indian Mutiny also galloped very reso utely over the same distance. Cbase Mab was given similar work. Whimper was restricted to long slow work. Astraea sprinted five furlongs in tak-v ing style.. Mocassin and Rangihaeta each did useful gallops, both moving; well. Belario acquitted himself well over the schooling hurdles. Irish Rifle aid Daisy Paul were sent a mile on the course proper, to test the' state of the going, which proved very satisfactory at the bend where it was so bad in March last. Irish Rifle had a deal the worst of the weights, but easily held bis own, neither being extended.
