T. MERSON'S ESTATE.
The statement filed by Thomas Merson, blacksmith, of Carterton, shows the total debts to amount to £143 5s 6d, and the assets to be nil. The list of creditors, all unsecured' is as follows:—G. W. Deller, Carterton, £34; Mutual Trading Co,, Carterton, £3O; Empire Loan Co., Wellington, £34; Heale? Bros., carriers, Carterton, £7 10s; E. W. Mills and Co., Wellington, £7 15s; Roydhouse and Hornsby, Carterton, £18; F. H. Krahagen, Carterton, £6; W. J. Hill, Carterton, 10s 6d; Mercantile Gazette Co., Christchurch, £5 10s. In a written statement bankrupt says he commenced business three years ago in Carterton at his trade. Domestic troubles caused him to have to leave his shop premises, and had to take a position at'ordinary labour, earning only £4 from February till June. His books were destroyed in a fire at Mr Catt's premises. He is now employed by Wallace, Masson and Co.
