The proposed visit of a New Zealand team to New South Wales to pay matches under the Northern Rugby Union is likely to be made at the end of the present month. In his try for Scotland against England in the international match, Colin Gilray, the ex-Otago threequarter, badly beat Jackett, the fullback, who was a member of the Anglo-Welsh team which visited New Zealand last season. D. R. Bedell-Sivright, who captained the English team that visited Australia and New Zealand in 1904, is still playing in Scotland, being captain of the University team. The Rugby Union season in Australia and New Zealand will be [restricted to colonial teams, with no representative tourists either to New Zealand or Australia from beyond those colonies. The match between the Lower Valley and Liberal juniors, played on Saturday last, ended in a draw, there being no score. The following . scored tries in the Masterton 111.-Te Ore Ore 11. match. on Saturday last,, which was won by the former by 55 points to nil:—E. Fisher, 6; E. Simonson, 3; J. Carmine, 3; S. Dixon, 3; H. Simonson, 1; and T. Rayner, 1. Goals were kicked by Carmine and J. Hanley.
